I am using v. 2.0.4 of OpenOffice.org, which I downloaded as soon as I received e-mail notification that the upgrade was available. The word-count feature in OpenOffice Writer does not work. Most often, it gives me a reading of "0 words" in the conplete text, which of course is absurd. When I block out a section of text, the feature gives me what appears to be an accurate word count for the highlighted section, but then indicates that the word count for the complete text is "0 words." I am a professional writer, which means that the word-count function is vitally important to me. Therefore I find this problem very frustrating.
