Linux undergoes revision regularly, new versions of the kernel are released all the time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_kernel#History http://www.internetnews.com/dev-news/article.php/3614831 Windows releases a new version tommorrow, which is an update from 5 years ago. To forestall this thread continuing ad nauseum. I would like to suggest those interested download the Knoppix CD or DVD and try before you leap into a hard disk drive distro. Knoppix will boot straight into a fully working linux distribution from the CD without effecting the Windows hard disk. Just be aware that because it runs from a CD and has +-2GB of software on said CD (+-10GB for the DVD) it runs slower than both windows and slower than a proper linux installation. http://www.knoppix.org/ All you need do is set your BIOS to boot from CD. Anyone unable to set the BIOS to boot from CD does not have th etechnical expertise to maintain a Linux system. -- Michael Those that can, do; those that can't, teach. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
