Sorry to hear that you were "disappointed" with OOo (OpenOffice.org). However, it would be very helpful if you could give us few brief specifics about what aspects of OOo disappointed you. That's because there is no uninstall "button". You uninstall OOo through the Windows standard control panel method. The only "gotchya" to watch out for is that you must use the right click context menu option "close/exit" of the OOo Quickstarter icon in the taskbar tray. Are these files you have created or edited with OOo? If we are to help you resolve this, you will need to tell us what type of files they are. If they are files/documents saved in ISO/IEC 26300:2006 standard format, you will need software that can convert these files into other formats. At the present time the best software to do this is OOo. A far better approach would have been to approach this support mailing list requesting help with your OOo issues before attempting to uninstall.
