Dear Mr. Fuchs,

Thank you for the speedy reply. The document does open in MS Word,
but I no longer have the MS Word icon next to my documents. I have
what looks like a MS Wordpad icon. This started after I uninstalled
Open Office. Even if I create a new document in MS Word and save as
.doc, in the "My Documents" folder, it will have the Wordpad icon
next to it.

I am hoping someone can assist me in getting my machine back to its
original state.

Thanks and best regards,
Vin Savino

I installed Open Office a few months ago. Tried it out and it did
not suite my needs. I uninstalled it. All traces removed from
Program files and registry. Since then, all my MS Word icons are
what seem to be notepad icons. I am not happy. I want my MS Word
icons back. Please advise the solution.

Thank you,

Windows XP Professional Version 2002

What exactly happens when you try to open one of the documents by
double clicking on it? Your answer will, hopefully, determine the
solution to
your problem.
