I investigated a little bit why the selection behaves so strange. The explanation is a simple as unsatisfactory: hitting CTRL-A twice will select all characters in the document as I expected. But what I ovderlooked is that the frames in the labels document are anchored "as character" and so these "characters" are selected - not their content. Definitely not what users expect. I think there are some questions around labels that could be examined: - are tables better? (still open) - should the font size be autoadjusted so that the case that the text doesn't fit on the label won't happen anyway? - should the labels be synchronized by default? - should we do something with the selection?
