     Is this file an *.oot or is it an *.ott file? 
     Since you mentioned 1.9.m65, is this the version you are using? 
That was an Alpha version for OOo 2.0. It was never designed for 
normal everyday use. I would recommend you get version 2.1 from 
www.download.openoffice.org/2.1/.
     If the file is in fact *.ott, it is a text template. It is not a 
regular text file, but it is only an outline of what you want your 
text documents to look like. You do not convert *.ott files to *.odt.
    So, could you be a little more specific as to why you want to 
convert you *.oot to *.odt?
