If you want to incorporate it smaller as a part of instruction (or example)in another program or web page, it's easier to do with jpg? Screen capture may be easier if you have one.

You don't need a PDF-Convert toolbar with OOo Writer. Just do a File | Export as PDF. PDF-Convert should be able to use the PDF file and convert it to whatever other format you want.

However, why anyone would want to convert a PDF to JPEG is beyond me. The JPEG file will almost certainly be larger and uglier unless you have some very strange graphics in your file (e.g. ones that are substantially shrunk from their actual size).

That's my problem. I did save in Word .doc format, but PDF-convert works by
adding a toolbar to Word, but it doesn't add a toolbar to OO Writer.

OpenOffice will allow you to save your document in Word format. Choose
File>Save As. Select the appropriate Word format from the "Save as type:"
list. Ensure the "Automatic file name extension" box is ticked/checked.

Having saved the document in Word format you can (??) use PDF-Convert ...
