It goes further than simply opening the Calc program: I think it's probably time to start admitting that there are serious performance problems in opening excel spreadsheets: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=79762 Excel - few seconds to open Calc - 16 to 25 _minutes_ * The file is an Indian Tax Return Other examples: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=66987 http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=72822 http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=74109 http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Calc/To-Dos/Performance There are many more... I just got tired of looking. I've no doubt that eventually many of the issues will get resolved to a degree. But in the meantime I think it does no good to continue to provide the MS api/app boilerplate (which I've even done in the past :-). --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
