Is this a known 'feature' or something wrong in my setup?

Hello,

I tried to create a couple of styles use them --> Ok
I tried to modify them --> Ok
I deleted one of them --> Ok
I saved the spreadsheet and re-opened. The deleted style did not reappear
--> Ok.

As a consequence I am afraid this is a problem with your configuration. Is
the spreadsheet protected?
Of course I might have been lucky. If you can reproduce the error please
file a bug report.

Thanks for the critical clue!
The document wasn't protected, but it contained some sheets that were. The styles in question were not used.

I can understand that a style that may be used on a protected sheet can't be deleted, but isn't editing it a different matter? Could it be subject to an entry in 'options'? Or maybe a way to temporarely lift protection of all sheets without changing the protection status of individual sheets? (It's cumbersome to lift protection on all sheets, edit styles, reset protection on the ones that were protected. I'm glad I dont use styles much in calc...)

Just thoughts...
