If you're not sufficiently interested in any particular subject matter to be
interested in reading the replies to your remarks, refraining from posting into
that thread is the simplest way to avoid receiving feedback.
I am interesting in reading the replies to my posts and do so in the
newsgroup. I DO NOT need and additional email. That is why I use Gmane
to avoid all emails to the list and so I can download the body of only
those messages I want to read.
Sending an additional email reply to the poster rather than just to the
newsgroup is definitely bad netiquette. If you can't follow proper
netiquette please refrain from posting.
