I am still having the same problem with Japanese. If I find the solution I'll post here. And I'd be grateful if you were to do teh same! FWIW I have got a Japanese desktop to run with English OpenOffice.org. But I want the other way round - and it would be useful if OOo could do both. Though I would settle for OOo Japanese, and having to use a different word processor for English.
