Not Fedora. Besides hardware/multimedia support and easyness of
installation and upgrades, the third big discrimination factor among
Linux distribution is its user community and their goals.

Fedora is an excellent distribution (I am running it myself now), but
is a testbed which changes completely every 6/8 months and is perfect
for hobbyists or anybody else who wants to be on the bleeding edge:
two categories which are a bit less patient with beginners than the
average ubuntu user. Not to mention that Fedora does NOT install, by
explicit choice, codecs for Mp3, some Windows video formats etc... You
can add them manually, but it is probably easier to go with Ubuntu or
other distros to play those formats.

Absolutely. Not to mention that the problem the OP will have or not
with OpenOffice on Linux won't depend on the choice of distribution.
