I'm using OpenOffice at home, but sometimes I work at home and have Word 2007 docx sent to me as files. I can't open the docx files with OpenOffice. Can you help?

Yes,
Tell the people sending you the .docx files to send them in a format that
complies with the international standard ODF. Tell them you will have to
charge them a document conversion fee if they persist in sending you files
that the international community can not open without special utilities or
MS proprietary products. You may offer them OpenOffice for free which
complies with the international standard and will solve their problem.

If you are on a Microsoft operating system then you can download from the Microsoft web site a viewer from word 2007 (and PowerPoint and Excel) and you can copy and paste from there
