I let the thing run.... It began about 6-7 pm Monday night. it was still chugging away this morning at 6am. That seems far too long. I can stop and pause, but while it's scanning, there's no other option.

What I mean....? It sits there appearing like it's going through all the motions, but apparently doing nothing..... since it's still doing the same thing 35 hours later.

Something else I noticed, it wasn't until I installed the latest version (2.3.1) that this began. And it's only on a "full system scan." The normal daily scans (each day I alternate between drives) they're done quickly.

At 6 am this morning I clicked "Stop Scan" and I've done it several times since then. And it's STILL doing the same thing.

It just doesn't like something in that zip folder.... <sigh>

When you say "gets hung up ..." what exactly do you mean? How long for? On my system the file you mention is 5MB so scanning it might take a while. I think the scanner will scan each individual image within the file too; there are more than 7000 of those. Can you not tell Norton to skip/accept this file? Or configure Norton's scheduler to scan at a time when you are typically not using the computer? Have you tried scanning *just* that file? How long does it take?

I know this might not be completely on topic, but I have a problem with OOo 2.3.1.

When my Norton does a full system scan, it gets hung up on the following folder:

c:\Program Files\OpenOffice 2.3\share\config\images_crystal.zip

Any ideas why this occurs and how I can stop it??
