My first reaction was to ask you: why you are using Norton AV? It's notorious for causing conflicts and there are plenty of good, compatible AV applications out there (NOD32m Kapersky, DrWeb, FProt, & AVG, among others) and some of them are even free or shareware. My second reaction is to recommend that you ditch Norton and use one of them instead.
