Well said, Michele. Maybe Marco's way of approaching things is not to
everyone's liking, but his basic suggestion/request was not only reasonable,
but its acceptance would be of help and assistance to all users of this
list. To rudely refer to his requests as 'sniping' is, in my view, much
more upsetting (and unwarranted) than anything Marco has said. Although, of
course, I don't agree with Marco about bottom-posting but, for heaven's
sake, let's not go there <vbg>.

behaviour (was Re: [users] James K., may you please stop sending answers
without meaningful subjects?)
And when did this become your personal list, Marco? James K's help, with
or without "meaningful subjects" is far more helpful than this sniping.
I know, you said "thank you." It's still cheap shots at a valuable
contributor.
I have to agree with Marco on this: as much as I admire James'
determination in reading and replying to all these emails without
subject, I also think that it does not take too long to change the
subject (certainly less than replying). By doing this, other
volunteers could contribute to providing an even more comprehensive
reply to the query.
If it was only me systematically ignoring messages without a
meaningful subject not much would be lost, but I guess I am not alone
following this strategy.
May I suggest that you start your own list if you want to control the
content and form of the postings.
I think Marco has just limited himself to reminding everybody the
rules of this list. And even if these weren't rules of this list, many
people expressed support for the suggestion of inserting a meaningful
subject when the person who asked a question failed for whatever
reason to do so.
Cheers,
Michele
