My usual practice, when I want to use OOo, is to right-click on this

Templates, but I can no longer do that. I can go to START > ALL

one of the others and then go to FILE > NEW > TEMPLATE.
This is probably very simple to fix, like as in ticking a box
somewhere to "Show a quickstart icon on the Taskbar", but I have
looked and looked and cannot find any such control.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards, James
Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>Memory and then tick the box "Load
OpenOffice.org during system start-up". Click OK and the "birds" icon
should appear in your System Tray (official name for that part of the
screen). This should now also survive a re-boot.
