Are some of the icons in your System Tray "hidden"? If so there will be a left-pointing arrow (more like a greater-than sign) at the left end of the Tray. Click on it to display those hidden icons. I had a problem with missing Tray icons. I Googled and found that it can often be fixed by deselecting the "Hide inactive icons" option: *right* click the Start button; select Properties; select the Taskbar tab; ensure there is no tick in the "Hide inactive icons" box.
