The last few times, a new install of a new version of OpenOffice has simply accepted my settings, which is nice.

However it still on occasion (latest being this evening) unaccountably switches around to the "factory defaults," that is, the curly quotes, and changing of double hyphens into one dash, among others.

I have had this happen before, and reported it to the list, to a thunderous silence.

I'm sure I can't be the only one this has happened to.

Has anyone any notion of what accidental sequence of key-strokes I might have hit to cause this?

I am using Ubuntu 7.10, with OpenOffice 2.3.1 downloaded from the official site.
