I just downloaded open office at home.
I started a word document and worked at it in open office.
I saved it to an USB stick and took it to my office.
I tried to open the document, but Word could not open the files, because
the extension ODT was not recognised.
What can I do?
By default, OpenOffice saves files in the ISO standard ODF formats,
which Microsoft refuses to support. There are two ways around this.
1) Use Save As and select the Word format from the drop down list.
2) Install OpenOffice on that computer or the Sun ODF plug-in, which
will enable Microsoft Office to read & write ODF files.
