The impression I got is that vendors are becoming less inclined to put icons on the desktop and into the quick launch bar. They only create a sub menu within Start Menu. The previous version of MS Office, ie the one before 2007 doesn't put shortcuts on the desktop or into the quicklaunch bar, whereas every version of MS Media Player puts itself into the quick launch bar. Whilst were on the subject of the install, The default location that it uses to unpack itself is buried deep within the Documents & Settings hierarchy. I appreciate that the installer is given the option of unpacking OOo to a different directory, which is what I always do. I point it at c:\temp that way the unpacked files are trashed when the system is next rebooted. Why doesn't the install remove these files if the install is successful. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
