Checked out your file ...... this is definitely an openoffice issue. My staroffice/openoffice 2.* is exhibiting the behavior you mention on Linux too.

I also tried in StarOffice 8/rev9 (linux) and also had issues; CPU maxed
out and I finally had to kill it. OOo 2.4.0 opened the doc fine.
OOo3.0M5 opened the file also, albeit slower than 2.4.0.

BTW: where are you getting M6 from? M3 installed fine for me (.deb
files), but M5 keeps wanting to be king of the hill and take over my 2.4.0.
