Good Point. Also probably why there were fewer downloads for Linux
than Mac. That surprised me at first.
Not all of us Linux users settle for their distro version. There
have been a few comments about how certain distros tend to "break"
OOo in customizing it for their release. I myself usually prefer the
original straight from OOo, although for now I admit I'm using the
one that comes from Fedora 9, but will probably switch later on.
In early 64-bit versions of Fedora, there were 64-bit released issues
so I needed to use the official release. In Fedora-8, I needed to use
the Fedora release because of an issue supporting java. Now, in
Fedora-9, I need to use the official release because of a bug
relating to macros.
To Andrew Pitonyak: There is also the issue of the NVIDIA drivers,
which does not seem to be a concern to the developers, although Ver.
10 is supposed to address that problem. I hope so! I use ver. 8
whitch works well with NVIDIA drivers, which I cannot figure out why
ver. 9 does not! :-(

As I use nvidia drivers, what issue are you referring to in F 9? I don't
seem to be running into anything other than blanking off my screen
(video is actually shutting off), even though power save is disabled,
however I don't use all of the special video affects that the newer
drivers are supposed to be capable of.
