Good Point. Also probably why there were fewer downloads for Linux than Mac.
That surprised me at first.
Not all of us Linux users settle for their distro version. There have
been a few comments about how certain distros tend to "break" OOo in
customizing it for their release. I myself usually prefer the original
straight from OOo, although for now I admit I'm using the one that comes
from Fedora 9, but will probably switch later on.
