In answer (rather belatedly) to para 1, go to Tools > Options > Open
Office.org >
General > Document Status > if there is a tick in -(Printing sets "document
modified"
status), I know this wants you to save the document again even if you have
only
opened it and printed a copy of it without making any alterations at all. I
always
wondered why this was so when I had made no alterations until I found out
about
this setting. Try with the tick out and then again with the tick in - and
do not
forget the OK button at the bottom each time.
