zdravo,
leksikon informatike pravi, da je to žeton, tudi vse besedne zveze s to
besedo so vključujejo žeton. tudi jaz se s tem strinjam. vedno se
sprašujemo, ali naj bo nova beseda, ki bo nastala kot prevod nove
angleške besede, bližje angleški besedi (torej žeton) ali dejanskemu
pomenu pojma, ki ga predstavlja (tukaj gledamo razlago pojma, vendar je
tukaj definicij več in dejansko gre pri vseh za neke vrste žeton (vse iz
Googla):
* an individual instance of a type of symbol; "the word`error'
contains three tokens of `r'"
* something serving as a sign of something else
* In Microsoft Windows operating systems, an access token contains
the security information for a login session and identifies the user
* A physical device used to authenticate a user for access to
authorised computer services. Called a security token, hardware
token, authentication ...
* A sequence of characters considered a single unit by the shell. It
is either a word or an operator .
Še iz Microsoftovega slovarja:
token žeton For networking, a unique structure or message that
circulates continuously among the nodes of a token ring and describes
the current state of the network. Before any node can send a message on
the network, it must first wait to control the token.
token žeton Any nonreducible textual element in data that is being
parsed. For example, the use in a program of a variable name, a reserved
word, or an operator. Storing tokens as short codes shortens program
files and speeds execution.
lock token zaklepalni žeton The value that is returned on successful
execution of the WebDAV LOCK method. This value is used to transact
subsequent requests.
access token žeton za dostop A data structure that contains
authentication and authorization information for a user. Windows creates
the access token when the user logs on and the user's identity is
confirmed. The access token contains the user's security ID (SID), the
list of groups that the user is a member of, the list of privileges held
by that user. Each process or thread started for the user inherits a
copy of the access token. In some cases a user may have more than one
access token, with different levels of authority.
primary token primaren žeton An access token assigned to a process to
represent the default information for that process. It is used in
security operations by a thread working on behalf of the process itself
rather than on behalf of a client.
impersonation token poosebitveni žeton An access token that captures
the security information of a client process, allowing a service to
"impersonate" the client process in security operations.

Poglej v Leksikon informatike od Pasadene in VST, tja navadno gledam.
Drugače pa mislim, da sem ga enkrat že preobravnaval. Preišči arhiv
liste lugos-slo za 2009 ali 2008, zaenkrat lahko noč.

Pri delu na Mozilli naletim vedno znova na ta (dejansko osnovni) pojem.
Islovar ni kaj posebno v pomoč (žeton!). Mozilla uporablja sem in tja
prevod "figura" (od kod to!?).
Ker gre za leksikalno bistveno vprašanje oz. pojem (Urška?), si ga
moramo vsi skupaj dobro pre/izmisliti.
Vsak predlog bo dobrodošel. In če se sprašuje naprej (npr. na lugos), me
prosim obveščati.
