Neal,
You've got a really nice bike, why spoil everything with a set of cobras? Seriously
those pipes are only meant to make noise and upset the proper combustion and horse
power delivery (apart from the neighbours). I understand when you say that you get
plenty of power, since V-max is more like a locomotive, but and I repeat this once
more to some answer I got when explaining what the reason was for cobra's loss of
power on a standard machine. This is the lack of backpressure which can be achieved in
many ways but cobra didn't bother to check. There is an instant in the engine where
you go through a valve overlap, meaning that both exhaust and intake are open. In this
moment if the exhaust system does not create some backpressure you loose unburnt
mixture. Please understand I'm trying to make this as simple as I can so anybody can
understand; in reality it is much more complicated and difficult to achieve to get a
good balance. Loosing this means wasted potential energy........thus low mileage
amongst other things.

I also have a 99 carbon look and have never enjoyed a bike as much as I do with this
"Crazy Horse".

Best regards and welcome to the group.
