Greetings. I've been having some hesitation problems with my Vmax lately
and I'm looking for any advice on what it might be.

The hesitation occurs when I'm cruising down the road at a constant RPM.
I've noticed it occurs mostly around 4000rpm but it happens everywhere
else too. If I hold a constant throttle position for anything longer than
say about 5-7 seconds and then goose the throttle, it will first hesitate
for a split second and then take off, almost like it's not getting any gas
for that split second. If I ease into the throttle after that same 5-7
seconds, I don't notice it. I've also noticed that it occurs most often
when the bike has reached its normal operating temperature, or has gotten
close to it anyway. Once the hesitation has occurred, I can goose the
throttle at any time and the bike will leap forward just like it's supposed
to do. But if I wait another 5-7 seconds at a constant rpm, it'll hesitate
just like before.

The carbs were just re-synched so I'm assuming that's not the source of the
problem. The bike has 1000 miles on it as of last night. I only put
Chevron Supreme in the bike so I'm assuming it's not a gasoline quality
issue either. It recently had it's oil and filter changed - the problem
occurred before the oil change and after with no noticeable difference in
severity.

The bike is still under warranty so any major work that's going to need to
be performed will be done by the Yamaha shop. If it's something simple,
I'll do it. I would greatly appreciate any and all advice on what the
source of this problem might be. Thanks much.
