Neal,
I think someone mentioned taking this guy back to the dealer since it
only has 1000 miles on it. That is good advise. If this really started
after the carb sync though I would look at one thing .... The manifold
for cylinder 2, (left front sitting on the bike), is a little
different than all the others. If you remove the chrome plastic
covers, (below the carbs), that cover the Vboost ... you will see the
little rubber caps on the vacuum ports that "they" connect to when
doing a carb sync. On cylinder 2 there is a rubber hose and not a cap.
This rubber hose is connected to your manifold pressure sensor ...
this sensor is indirectly responsible for you getting additional
vacuum advance ignition timing from the ignitor, (because it monitors
the vacuum at the manifold of cylinder 2 and feeds the result to the
ignitor). I would take a really good look at this hose and make sure
it is still connected at both ends, (there is a one way valve in the
middle of the hose too). This hose may be off on one end ... or some
"zero" may have missed it all together and put a plain rubber cap back
on cylinder 2. If it is there .. then simply take it back to the
dealer and make them fix your problem, (actually ... a really un-super
sync job that would leave cylinder 2 on the short end of the stick
would have a noticeable affect on performance when suddenly opening
the throttle). Just a thought .. and not too much to check out
.........
