Dont knock the switch till you try it. Improves low end torque and throttle 
response.  The only adverse affect I have is a rougher idle which I happen to 
like the sound of.  Note that my bike currently has a 4-2-1 kerker system 
with stage 1.  Not sure how the vboost always on mode will work with stock 
exhaust.
