You probably don't really have to ... but I would always re-sync one
more time after doing anything like this .... especially since it
sounds like that one cylinder was not doing much anyhow ... Then you
can get everyone right on the money without having to worry about
doing anything major for a while and this time the engine won't be
behaving like a bucking bronco. Your doing the syncs yourself right ??
If not .. get a Carbtune solid rod stick or mercury tubes/gauges etc
... they are not very expensive. It makes a big quality of life
difference for light load cruising and for idle .. as well as off idle
performance.
