Sorry to go off on another direction Terry, or anyone who has some input.
My question has nothing to do with Scott Mellor's dyno sheet, but since you are
talking carburettors.....There are a couple of options I still want to explore.
To refresh you.
My bike is a stock '99 with Mark's 4-2-2 pipe. I have no shims on stock needles,
plot screws are out 2.5-3 turns, airbox "Y" is shimmed up about .120" but is
still in place, diaphragm springs have 5-6 coils tied.
The bike runs absolutely great, no flat spots, magic response from as low as
2000 rpm. I do know that I have very good fuel curve (a/f ratio) at most
throttle openings other than full throttle where I am probably a little lean,
but not dangerously so.
Is it advisable to simply try a # 155 main jet to take care of the top end fuel
shortage, or is a "Factory" Titanium needle in a stock main jet tried at various
clip positions, another useful approach?
In either case am I likely to see a real world difference, seat of the pants or
on the dyno? I believe there's a little more left in this combo with fine
tuning, at full throttle and over 5000 rpm, everywhere else it is excellent.
Any suggestions from anyone would be welcome.
