Kevin, First the allen screw with copper washer leaking oil when loosened is
normal. As for your clutch you made it sound like you have the bike on the
centerstand when engaging the gears and pulling in the clutch. It is normal
to have some spin in the wheel when you do it that way. The plates are just
dragging a little, that's normal. If you try to do this while the rear wheel
is on the ground and it either won't go in gear or kills the engine when you
do it I would say the clutch is not disengaging. If after determining if
your clutch doesn't work right take the cover off and you can tell visually
if it is moving when you pull the clutch lever. You might as well do this
anyway if the bike has been sitting for 8 years just to inspect it for peace
of mind. The slave cylinder is removable, but a little tough to wiggle out
of it's spot. Be careful of the metal line going in not to bend it too much.
