Charles,
glad you asked, i was just reading off all the mail before i
posted you direct.
in doing some resent tuning tests i found that the best
3000rpm/4th gear roll-on power was attained with the v-boost "factory
functional". i was kind of supprised but then figured it made sense because
the whole intake track was "effectively " smaller and shorter than with the
boost open at that point.
also in an earlier recent post to the list i mentioned that
i had returned my v-stacks to the airbox with a trimed lid with satisfying
results. you should try it, you'll find even better low-end response than
was had w/ the stacks in the filters. when dialed in the idle is pretty
stable too.
                i'm now runningMK42.5pfj,DJ165paj2,"factory" needles at 1st
clip, DJ170main,screws at 2-1/4, hybrid airbox.
this is unquestionably the best it's been and i'll probably
be leaving it there for a while to let it settle.
                steve #1131
