Ronald,
You make the brace fit the forks not the forks fit the brace . I do not
think there is anything wrong with the Superbrace. I think it is the
manufacturing tolerences of Yamaha . This is why some fit the first time
& others need to be modified . The brace is flat so the problem is the
hole alingment & the front part of the curve on the brace . This is what
I have found .
Take the wheel off & install the axel a couple of turns . Snug up the
pinch bolt just enough to take out the slop . Install the brace & twist
the axel . If the axel feels like it is in a bind then do what you have
to do to stop the forks from twisting .
On my bike I had to grind the front curved area that fits against the
front part of the forks, elongate the holes, & turn down the bolt heads
to fit the holes . When I first installed the brace it locked up the
axel & pulled it off buy 1/4 " !
I installed one on a friends bike just before we went to the Gap & the
brace droped on with no problems .Just to see if I had a defective
Superbrace I tried to swap his to my bike & it would not fit my bike .
They were both late model forks .
