Not to pick nits, but it's actually L-Soft's LISTSERV. Certainly pre-WWW
software, and by some accounts pre-Internet (not chronologically, but in
that it has its roots in BITNET.) I think it is recognized as the
grand-daddy of list management software (its name is nearly synonymous
with mailing lists IMO). However, I don't think everyone would agree that
it's the friendliest software available.
