One option is the traditional unix command-line program "lynx", which
has a convenient "-dump" option to, well, dump the text-rendered version
of a url.  Some selective copy/paste/trim-ing should result in something
suitable for email, with a minimum of time.

For example, the attached is what I get from running:

    lynx -dump http://www.vtsda.org/mailings/vtSDA_Meeting_March_2009.html > 
/tmp/lynx-dump.txt

   to our Lunch & Learn presentation by Gordon Troy to celebrate Patrick's
   tenure as our Executive Director.

   Vermont and concentrates his practice in i) domestic and international
    trademark prosecution, litigation, licensing and counseling, and ii)

    Because of Gordon's computer software and hardware background, Gordon
     has many clients in the business of developing information systems,
     hardware and computer software systems. He also represents several
       leading edge development firms of patented, patent pending and

        and tracking systems, micro-measurement devices, computerized
