Greetings List Lurkers,

One of the founding principles of BOSI and the TechnoRubble project
is the concept of reuse. Yet governments at all levels
conspire against all concepts and ideas of conservation and reuse. case in
point:

TECHNO-FASCISM...

My 2013 ExXerra car needs to pass inspection. Little did I know that the
On Board Diagnostic (OBD2) "clear codes" leaves them in the OBD2 log, which
disqualifies the Vermont auto safety inspection.

So today's technical hack involves how you beat this. If you have any
insight or special knowledge in this somewhat open source area, please sing
out! Here is what I know.

1. Never bring the vehicle into an inspection without clearing the ODB2
logs (use the feature in the scanner).
2. You can clear the Engine Control Module (ECM) by either:
     a. Removing the ECM fuse for a few minutes or
     b. After disconnecting the main battery either Grounding or shorting
out the whole car (radio will reset).
3. Using a gasoline based "cleaner"... (so the parts folks tell me :^)

The mechanic after detecting clearing of a code will insist the vehicle
operate subsequently for 50 miles without "throwing a code", so no
immediate re-inspection.

Anyway, this is indeed a technology frustration. What society really seems
to want is for us to perpetually throw away and/or buy new. I call this
malaise "Version-itus". While this is culturally hated, particularly here
in rural Vermont, my opinion is that this lack of tolerance is really what
"conservatism" should be about.

OK, that was this morning's rant. What I really want to get to is to
discuss is that we need
to eventually plan a meet up at SugarTower, where we can assess and
organize the TechnoRubble that has
accumulated from our strategic withdrawal from Methodism, the week passed
shows how I tried to unsuccessfully expand the dry storage areas.

As stated previously, we want to make Incremental TechnoRubble Progress
(ITP). Hopefully a plan and report shall be forthcoming this week. Sing
out or attend the meeting in person if you are interested in this
TechnoRubble loot. The new 'thespian' laptop is a case in point.

Tonight in addition to my newly acquired JavaScript fetish, I expect to
continue my education in the SuSe
version of Immutability and Associated Containers (IAOC) that DTG has been
coaching me on IAOC which is
really a cool development environment, possibly beyond the scope of Google
JavaScript,
which has a web-based IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that works
quite well.

One of my fantasies to forge in the IAOC environment is since we got
Pipewire hooked up, we may be delving into some audio evil... AudioEvil.sh
is a VisualBash script yet to be written, which strikes me as the ultimate
name for a bash script to implement and monitor acquisition of protected
audio streams (Piracy :^).

Once I get beyond hacking automobile ECM's I expect to get back to this
kind of software development.

Again, maybe Dave can consider a brief stint of immorality to help me with
AudioEvil.sh

That said we have a meeting tonight at - 6PM.

Summer in these parts of Vermont remains frantic. I almost cannot wait for
the coming winter season, which will no doubt include ideas gleaned over
the summer as well as a concentration
on developing several Maria database instances including but not limited to
a database of functions
which could be added to any VisualBash FED program.

More on that as we approach winter...

The life lesson here is that serious development remains for the winter.
We shall soon answer questions like - Can I use Chat GPT to generate
VisualBash scripts?

...so more about these foolish ideas is available this Monday evening at 6
PM at the York Library in beautiful East Barre Vermont. Thus we are
centralizing and convocating at the York Branch Library this evening. That
said, come in person or remotely and bring this and any other problems and
questions and we shall do our thing!

This evening beyond the Library face-2-face & gizmo-2-gizmo, we shall use
https://meet.jit.si/bosi to connect.

Come on to https://meet.Jit.si/bosi at 6PM! Feel free to click the
