Sameer babu, Very interesting comparison, what a unique example you have chosen to distinguish between the two cultures!!! But why you think that they only sleep with everyone in their young age alone????? Going by the statistics, there are highest number of divorces happening the the U.S and U..K than anywhere in the world!!!! This is one of the pointers to the facts, one can easily speculate the unofficial figures!!! Wat say?

Agree with Subu and nayan, Didnt know that the official government figure is 77%. That means, it definitely is more than 77%. We can't argue that with the westerners. And also, when we all were in India, we used to think that these people dont have any values, culture and sleep around in their young age with whoever. Is that the case? Not really. These people do get upset when their relations break. So the gist is, everyone has half information when we are on only one side of the fence. When we really start living with one another in a mixed culture (eastern and western i.e.) we start realising the other half that we didn't know previously. Jaane do, its all about educating one another isnt it. It is really good that the girl asked the q to Arachana instead of blindly imagining that Arch has not met her fiance. Isn't that a positive thing? Archana, what did you reply to her? We all have given our two cents, what was the actual reply!!! To: [email protected] Sethu, I like what you have written, very true about the comments by Jaya and you! But the point is after nearly 60 years of Independence nearly 40% of our population is still living below the poverty line! Isnt this figure alarming? Another committee appointed by the Govt. last year put the figure of poors in India at 77%!!!!!! Now, if the firang's have this view about India, i dont think they are to be blamed entirely!!!!! Wat do you have to say Sethu???????? ________________________________ From: Sethu M <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, 22 August, 2009 4:28:32 AM Subject: Re: have u seen your fiance ? Yeah very true Jaya, I agree with you on this. Actually the picture they have about India is poor India. And above all this the movie slumdog has given a bad image about India to them. So except for the firangis who had never visited India, image got struck onto their mind that is how India is. One question for the moderator of this group, we are not getting all the mails from the group, is the mails are getting filtered, or blocked at some level. --Sethu On Fri, Aug 21, 2009 at 10:03 AM, Jaya Satish <[email protected]> wrote: >This is an unfortunate/uneducated/ignorant question on part of FOREIGNERS who >still think India has elephants, snakes on the roads & girls are forced into >marriages...it may be true still in v.rural areas of India but hey we are the >country of Infosys, Reliance, & other hi-tech modern facilities.... > >i was & continue to be asked that q even now after 14 yrs in USA when talks >come of our marriage etc... > >i take this opportunity to EDUCATE the Firangis.
