Tim, it's a pity you weren't around to tell Sun not to use the .java
and .class four letter extensions :)

The only OSs I can think of which could not handle more than 3
characters is DOS and possibly Win 3.1.  Even if someone managed to
get a JVM running on either of those platforms, do we really care?!   :)
