They developed their own interface. Why doesn't it look amateurish? I think mainly our UI hasn't received any attention for a while as a whole. (I say "as a whole" because it has received lots of attention in bits and pieces.) The problem is that UI uglies aren't bugs per se, and so it's harder to justify working on them when there are bugs or performance problems to be resolved. That said, I'm looking at other UIs all the time for ideas. I've have a *huge* list of UI uglies that I want to clean up; once I've cleared off my zooming, drawing improvement, dice roller, and logging projects, I do intend to attack those. -- J.
