I don't have much experience with 5+ VMs on one host, but here
are my thoughts:

As 
* your VMs will all be on the same host,
  i.e. they'll share the same resources of the host, and
* one VM can also use the full resources of the host

What's the point of load balancing on 1 limited resource - the host?

Can a VM reach it's limits when the host does not? Which resource
could that be? Network, disk, memory? In either case, I'd rather tend
to say that either the VM is configured too small or the host is too
weak.
