That's usually not a problem for my situation (but a good idea for
others).  I must admit I've been using /usr/local on its own partition
(or whole disk) since I first met SGI Irix.

That sounds pretty low level!

As far as I know, you must define a partition before you create the
fs, even if the whole disk is one partition.

So basically I'm going to have to use the low-level commands to create
the second, movable virtual disk?
