glad you solved your problem. I guess you might need to apply at least service 
pack 1 (or even service pack 3 if you are going to apply a servicepack) to get 
the usb 2.0 functionality if you need it.

See previous message in this thread, it would seem that an old XP Home
system doesn't have USB 2.0.  Turning USB 2.0 EHCI off in VirtualBox
fixed my problem.
