Yes, this is the second time I've had a big go at sorting this, the first time was when I was trying to connect a Nokia phone. That first time I eventually ended up re-installing Windows, installing the Nokia USB drivers and then letting it upgrade (?) to SP3. I never found what the problem was. What I'm seeing with the Garmin Nuvi is *exactly* the same symptoms. I've tried many (most!) of the solutions I've found on Google including the MS knowledgebase ones and none has worked yet.
