nobody here but us chickens! :)  yeah, there's a few of us kicking
around.  unfortunately many of us have been pretty busy lately.  
myself, i'm just a velocity-tools committer who never got around to
contributing much to the core and hasn't done much with velocity-tools
lately either.

however, i'm slowly emerging from the craziest year and summer of my
life.  i'll be backing way off on the education and trying to get
things rolling again with velocity-tools.  anyway, none of that really
answers your question. so...

i've been around here for ages. so though i'm not a committer on the
core, i know it pretty damn well and will be happy to help answers
questions such as "When are we going too far, what is already there,
but we didn't realize it? Standards?"  i might also be willing to give
the occasional patch a test run on my own machine.

so, yeah, perhaps i can help you out with this plan a bit.
