Kathy McHugh mentioned at the AVA Town Hall Meeting that it is the expectation that recertification will be by exam. You can also do that with INS, if you choose not to attend the conferences. The goal of all recertification is to continuously update knowledge, thereby qualifying you for the honor of the title.

I agree. I am also a certified nurse pratitioner and CCRN. I have thought about going for my CRNI but the thought of having to recert by attend specific conferences makes it a little prohibitive.
