for the list
Hi Peter, thankx for your very kind consideration. In the clarification below,
Jim made an attempt to reword my original wording, and didn't do to bad a job.
Although i would not have ever indicated what materials are considered
"standard" in any way for use in artistic fly tying.....personally i'd
stricktly leave that up to the "Artist." The statement bout "mountable, super
(yet fishing) flies," is also his. I appreciate what Jim has done to be of help
to me tremendously.....but just so you know.....he was only trying to help.
Main point is. the flies required for this swap ARE TOTALLY of the "Artistic"
bent........and fundementally have NOTHING to do with fishing, per say. The are
100% of the creative nature, as designed to be ART. The hook is but a canvas on
which to "Paint" your creations.
You will be notified of the next swap if there is a next swap and if you will
be so kind as to send me your email address to [email protected]
........i WILL try and take pics of the results of the swap when the time
comes.....(at the end of the year).....Thankx for your interest. Your
enthusiasum and desire to see "what others can do" is what drives me to hold
such a swap. i TOO can't wait to see "what others can do." In fact, THAT, is
the motivation FOR the swap. TKX! My goal is to take fly tying (for "PURELY"
artistic reasons), in and of itself, to the next level as time goes
by..........with the help of as many others as i can get. i see fly tying as so
MUCH MORE than simply a craft or a hobby that anglers use to help them catch
fish...............so MUCH MORE. mark..... http://www.pureartflytying.ning.com

Man... I'd love to get in on this, but just don't have the time now for it...
While I've been 'the jerk who holds up a swap' previously, I just don't see it
as being fair to everyone else.
If someone takes pictures of this particular go of it, and if the participants
are willing to share, I'd really love to see what others can do.
Keep me informed if a "round two" of this swap comes up!

Guys, just so we're clear..........the "NO recipes Fly Swap" is NOT something
that is about flies for fishing............i got one reply already from someone
who seems to think that flies, "that work for me" is what i'm looking
for.......usually that is what we swap...........but this time that is NOT what
i'm looking for. This swap is STRICKTLY for "Artistic" flies that would be tyed
for the wall as ART. Flies "should" be tyed on rather large blind eye hooks
using gut eyes. Materials are exotic feathers, fancy beads and usually silk
thread. I know that many of my fellow tyers are able to tie "mountable"
fishing flys but these super flys are not what is called Artistic (although
they are beautiful). Please check my website for hints and also the web for
artistic flys for some more ideas. Remember - only six tyers - first come
first in.
Thankx! mark
