Wayne:

You can have a hundred tube flies and only one hook. Seems like the hook is the 
most expensive part of a fly.
If you fish with one and put it back in your fly box, you dont have to worry 
about it rusting.

You can make several tubes and add different looks to each fly, by adding to 
the basic fly.
You can have tubes with different weights attached so you can regulate the 
depth you fish at.

Most times the tube rides up the tippet and doesnt get chewed up, so you can 
use it a longer time without having to change flies.

Havent tried to tie any dry flies, but I am sure there are some tyers that 
have.

        I still don't see the advantages to tying a tube fly versus a 
conventional fly, can someone point out why you would want to tie a tube fly?
