It is not silk, I think it is Nylon like their rod wrapping thread. Rod
wrapping thread in SZ "A would work if you can find the right colors. I have
not been able to find them.

Gudebrod was all silk, wasn't it?  Might there be an advantage to using
Pearsall's?

Embroidery thread is generally polyester - I think.  Maybe better for a dry fly?

Embroidery thread, mamy use it for woven bodies. It's typically six strand, use
as many strands as you need to obtain thickness desired. I imagine a single
strand would be pretty close in thickness to Gudebrod G thread.

Hi Tony,

I'd like to try to learn to weave a Mayfly body (extended)  Your CD is great
for this, but I can't find the Gudebrod thread that yoou use.  Are you (or
anyone else) aware of a suitable substitued?  Colors?

I watched several YouTube videos that used everything from antron yarn to
embrodery thread.  My goal is to mimic the tight, small body you made; I'm
afraid that antron might be too heavy?  Thoughts?

Thanks!
